One childhood memory that I have is of my mom clipping coupons. I remember understanding the concept, but not fully appreciating the motivation behind it. All that has changed as I have become obsessed with coupons. Ok, I know it's rather lame, but I NEED to figure out a way to not exceed our grocery budget for the month - something that I've managed to do for the past five years. I decided that enough was enough and delved into this weird online world of couponing. Can you believe there are blogs and forums out there specifically devoted to this stuff??? I didn't, but then I was brainwashed and now check these things hourly (I told you I was obsessed!). It's kinda like a game to try and figure out the best combination of sales and coupons. I do believe my obsession will wear off once I figure out how to do this all, but I did want to share some of my favorite blogs:

Now that I'm a stay at home mom, I actually have time to do some of this, so I'm taking advantage of it. And hopefully I can stay within our grocery budget for the first time ever. And by the way, my mom was never this obsessed...

My dad would be so proud!
thanks for posting this KJ! i am also obsessed with this stuff. Here are some other sites that I enjoy to try and find good deals on leisure and luxury items that we typically can't accommodate in our budget:
google "groupon.com" to find groupon daily deals for your city. chicago's are pretty amazing so far. 50-90% off a wide range of entertainment/leisure activities, goods and services.
and i will invite you to check out the following:
ruelala.com
hautelook.com
shopittome.com
these tend to be designer sample sales, so most of it is still pretty expensive, but occasionally, you can find really ridiculous deals and they organize it by brand and label. So, for instance, we are shopping around for some big-ticket kitchen items. When we know Kitchenaid or Cuisinart are having sales, we've checked these out and found really excellent deals that sometimes exceed the pricing of BBB with the 20% coupons.
Mine and Mike's moms also really like Kiehl's body products. The Kiehl's sale had everything in the regular line for like, 50% off or more -- which is something you can't really find in the store ever.
Also, if you don't regularly shop overstock.com or buy.com, they often have really great deals on everything from clothes to electronics to bedding-- and send out a weekly mailing of what's on sale, and sometimes include extra % off promotions.
